How to Gamify Your Courses on Levelup?

Gamification is an exciting way to drive up engagement for your online learning courses on Levelup. It involves incorporating game-like elements and principles into your learning environment. This is aimed at enhancing engagement, motivation, and overall learning features. 

Let us learn how you can gamify your courses on Levelup. Here are the steps that you need to follow: 

Activation Gamification on Levelup 

The first thing that you need to activate gamification for your courses. Once you activate it, it will apply to all your courses. 

Here is what you need to do to activate gamification for courses on Levelup: 

1. Log in to your Levelup admin account. 
2. In the sidebar menu, select ‘Settings’ (gear icon) 
3. A dropdown menu opens on the sidebar. On the dropdown menu, choose ‘Gamification’ 
4. When you click on ‘Gamification,’ you will be redirected to the gamification page. 
5. On this page, you will get the details of gamification and a toggle switch. You simply need to switch on the toggle switch to activate gamification. 
6. If you want to deactivate gamification, you can renavigate back to the gamification page and switch the toggle on. 

Now that you have activated gamification, let us find out how you can set up the points for completing each material in the courses. 

Setting Up Gamification for Individual Courses 

Once you have activated gamification, you will be able to set the points your learners/trainees will get when they complete a material.  

Here is what you need to follow :

1. Log into your Levelup admin account 
2. Click on courses on the sidebar menu 
3. You will be redirected to the courses page. Select the course you want to gamify. You can also create a new course and gamify it as well. 
4. If you are looking to create a new course. Click on Course or the AI course builder. Please note that you will not be able to gamify your SCORM or Flashcard course. 
   NOTE: Make sure that you have gamification already activated for your Levelup programs before you proceed to the next level. 
   
5. Once you are on the course creation page, you can start creating your course.  
6. Scroll to the ‘Add tags’ section. You will see an option for ‘Points Earned for Each Material’ with a sliding scale below. 
7. You can adjust the slider to set the value of points you want learners to get when they complete a material. The lowest score is 5 points, and you can set it at increments of 5, up to a maximum of 50 points. 
8. Once you are done, you can just publish the course. 
9. Now all that is left to do is to assign the course to the learner, and when the learner completes a material within a course, they accumulate the set of points. 

PLEASE NOTE: The points accumulated through gamification DO NOT add to the assessment scores. The scores of the assessment tests are calculated separately, and only when the learner takes the test. 

Now, let us look at how admins and learners can check the leaderboards. 

Earning Badges 

When your learners/trainees earn points that go beyond a certain threshold, they will earn badges. Contact our team to know how you can set badges for your team. 

How Can Learners Check Their Badges 

1. Log in to your learner account on Levelup 
2. On the home page, click on the ‘flash’ icon, beside your account settings on the top right corner of the page. 
3. You will get the list of the badges you have earned, along with the total points accumulated by completing gamified courses and the current level. 

Checking the Leaderboards 

The points accumulated by the learners are used to rank on the monthly and all-time leaderboards. Here is how you and your learners can check the leaderboards. 

How Can Learners Check Their Badges 

1. Log in with your admin or learner account on Levelup 
2. On the sidebar menu, click on the ‘Leaderboard’ option (the crown icon) 
3. Once you are on the leaderboard page, you can check the ‘monthly’ and ‘all time’ leaderboard.
